Lean Jax Leadership Webinar Series
Chuck It Down™
A Simplified Approach to Everyday Problem-Solving That Drives Results · 90 Minutes · Free · Zoom login information will be sent upon registration.
You thought you solved it. You were wrong. It's back.
If your problem-solving efforts keep coming up short, you're not alone. Chuck Carlton has walked into organizations around the world and seen the same thing. He's spent 30 years figuring out what teams keep missing and built something to fix it.
We ran this session last July. The conversation was good enough that we're bringing Chuck back, this time with 90 minutes and room to go deeper. Whether you were with us then or this is your first time, this session will go further than before.
Chuck It Down™ means exactly what it sounds like. Take a complex, frustrating problem and break it down until it becomes something your team can actually work with. Not another method to learn and forget. Just something anybody on your team can pick up and actually use.
It works because it starts with a question most teams skip: where exactly is this problem happening? The actual place in the process where something goes in fine and comes out wrong.
Find that first and you're going to save yourself a lot of time. What you measure, what you put on the fishbone, who you involve, how long it takes — all of it changes. Skip it and you can have a room full of smart people generating a very long list of things that have nothing to do with your problem.
What This Webinar Covers
- Where problems actually live in your process, and why it matters before you do anything else.
- How to get to the real root cause instead of treating the same symptom over and over.
- How to develop solutions that hold and make sure the problem never returns.
- How leaders who stay close to the problem get better results than those who just review reports.
- How one shared approach stops your teams from pulling in different directions and actually sticks.
- How to develop your own people into confident problem solvers.
Chuck opens the floor early and keeps it open. Questions, pushback, and real examples from your own experience are welcome throughout.
Come ready to dig in. Bring a real problem from your work and let's see where it leads.
About Chuck Carlton
Chuck Carlton has spent 30 years watching smart teams solve the wrong problem. So he built something simpler. Not because simple is easy, but because if it doesn't work for everybody on the floor, it doesn't really work.
Chuck serves as a Senior Lean Consultant with Bussell Lean Associates and previously held Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain roles in the medical device and manufacturing industries. In Texas, he worked at Medtronic as a Value Stream Manager at facilities that earned Shingo Prize recognition and later led a facility in the Dallas–Fort Worth area that hosted benchmarking visits from AME and the Shingo Institute. He still comes back with questions.
A certified Master Black Belt and former Shingo Model trainer, Chuck has done this work across a wide range of organizations, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and Sam's Club.
He built Chuck It Down™ because he wanted anyone, not just the specialists, to be able to walk into a problem and know exactly what to do next. Ask him how it works. He'll say he's still learning. Then watch what happens when he gets in the room.
Chuck does this work directly with organizations through Bussell Lean Associates. The goal is to help build a system where your people can solve the next problem, and the one after that on their own. If that's the kind of work your organization is ready for, reach out to Chuck directly at Chuck@Busselllean.com.
