Bio:
Growing up in Jacksonville, Renea Chandler started working at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) after high school. She left to obtain her education at Brigham Young University (BYU). There she received Associates, Bachelors and Masters of Public Administration degrees. She also worked for BYU Police Department and created a Crime Analysis Unit for the Decatur, Illinois Police Department.
Renea worked for 37 years at JSO. Areas of work included the Communications Center, Planning and Research, manager of the Records and Identification Units, Professional Oversight Unit, and Training Coordinator for civilians. Her favorite assignments were manager of the Crime Analysis Unit and manager of Continuous Improvement Unit.
Renea has presented numerous times at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Annual Training Symposium and at other law enforcement conferences.
She has spoken at various Lean conferences and training sessions. She has advised law enforcement agencies on the benefits of Lean for Law Enforcement. Various law enforcement agencies representatives came to JSO to learn this philosophy including agencies in Florida, Indiana, Texas, and representatives from LAPD.
Renea retired from JSO in 2021. She is currently enjoying family, friends, volunteer work, and pickleball.
